Eduwonk doesn’t like the poll results. Wants a second opinion.
I guess when they attack the “usual suspects,” they may be including me.
EduWonk, the NCLB-lovers over at the right-wing Education Sector, weren’t happy with the results of the Scripps poll which showed most Americans opposed to NCLB. I reported the results. They want a second opinion.
All the usual suspects are excited about this poll purportedly showing that the public is done with No Child Left Behind. And based on the headlines you can see why. Problem is, the actual question, one of three NCLB ones asked as part of a larger survey, is hardly damning. Doesn’t basically everyone say the law should be changed in one way or another? Only 14 percent say repeal, hardly a groundswell…There is a better survey in the field right now, can’t say by whom but credible and bipartisan, I’ve seen the instrument, stay tuned for better data about where the public is.
Don’t like the data? Oh, well then. There’s better data. The poll that agrees with me.
