CTA President, David Sanchez goes after Pelosi and Miller on NCLB.
David Sanchez, President of the 340,000 member California Teachers Association went after NCLB reauthorization. Sanchez hit particularly hard at the Miller/Pelosi reforms, saying it did nothing to change the regressive nature of the law.

Newsweek reports that NEA research shows that male teachers in classrooms is at a 40 year low. In the elementary schools it is worse. 9% of elementary teachers are men compared to 18% in 1981.
Salary is one reason given, although the low entry level salary for teachers is low for women as well as men.
