Why is a kid who goes off to war “ours,” but one who sits in a classroom “theirs?”
And at some point a kid without an education may encounter one of your kids who has gone on to college.
Americans have a right, in fact have a civic responsibility, to demand more from their government.
No child should be left behind. But nearly half of the students in Chicago public high schools will drop out.
They’re going to be left so far behind you won’t even see them in your rearview mirror.
Slogans will not help them.
