The IEA’s Government Relations office put out this video on tips for when we go down to Springfield. Check out the group shots. Every lime green shirt is from our Region. We always get a large group to make the trip.

The right-wing New York Post carried an article today on the letter of support for Debbie Almontaser, the principal who was forced out of Khalil Gibran International Academy, a small school in NY that has an Arab cultural focus.
The headline in the Post says:
PROFS GO TO BAT FOR ARAB PRINCIPAL
And indeed, most of the signers [...]

When we head down to Springfield on April 30th for Lobby Day, we will be supporting Senate Bill 2288. SB 2288 would rebate state taxes to local school districts, which in turn will provide the opportunity for those districts that choose to reduce local property taxes.
