If you think gas is expensive in the USA.

Barcelona-We arrived in Barcelona yesterday. We took the fast train from Madrid. Getting from the Madrid airport to the train station was a little bit of a problem because truck drivers are on strike. They´re parking their rigs on the highways and blocking traffic.

If you think gas is expansive in the USA, it´s $11 a gallon here and getting more expensive by the minute. El Pais, the Spanish newspaper is screaming,¨Food shortages loom if irate haulers continue stoppage much longer.¨

There were no shortages in our restaurant last night. The food of Barcelona is mighty good. And the cava pours easily.

But the truck stoppages are expanding to France and Germany. Nothing is getting in or out of Spain.
