Charters, unions and the Times notices.
July 27, 2009
The editor must have said, “Hey, Dillon! Gimme a couple hundred words on unions and charter schools.”
So, Sam Dillon, the NY Times education writer churned out one of those pieces he could have written in his sleep: On the one hand and on the other hand. With a tilt towards the standard rap on unionization.
Still, it is interesting that the Times bothered. It is a sign of how far we have come in seeing that the issue isn’t if, but when unions come to charters.
