And the snow plow remains.

I’m from Chicago. I know something about big snow storms.

I’ve seen a mayor tossed out of office because of one.

I once joined a group of a half a dozen guys to shovel an alley clear when the city wouldn’t do it after several days and our cars were still stuck in their garages.

This was only to have the city show up a few hours later and plow a huge wall of snow up against the garage doors, undoing all that we had done.

So I know something about snow storms and city stupidity.

When we arrived in Brooklyn last night I took one look at our Brooklyn street and said that there was no way it could be plowed now. The city had waited too long. The snow would have to be lifted out one load at a time by a front loader. And that process would have to be repeated in every unplowed side street in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.

Heck of a job, Bloomie.

Late last night a front loader came down the street. They got about three houses down, but were just mounding the snow in front of them. An argument broke out between the two city workers and then they left.

This morning a plow came down but got stuck in the snow. Talking to the driver, he explained that he had told his boss that his truck couldn’t plow through this snow. But the boss told him to do it anyway.

He got stuck.

So they called a tow truck. It got stuck.

Then they called another front loader. They tied a chain between the front loader and the tow truck and they got the tow truck out.

But the snow plow remains.
