Memo to the EAG stalkers: I’m in Madison.

February 19, 2011

No Saturday Coffee this morning. Anne and I are off to Madison, Wisconsin to support our brothers and sisters in their fight to preserve public service unions.

Oooooh. I’m an outside agitator, radical activist just stirring up trouble. Just stirring up trouble.

Steve Gunn, “Communications Director” for the Education Action Group, the three-man outfit of union haters out of western Michigan noted:

Radical activist Fred Klonsky called Walker “Hosni Walker” – we suppose in reference to Hosni Mubarak – and said “Madison Wisconsin needs a Tahrir Square.” That’s the public square where thousands of Egyptians gathered to demand Mubarak’s ouster.

I guess there’s no metaphor that gets past Steve, Ben Velderman and the Glenn Beck mini-me, Kyle Olsen.

“…gathered to demand Mubarak’s ouster.”

That must count as one of the great understatements of the young year.

Isn’t that the photograph they took such a Schine to last week? We’re being had here, Fred. I noticed the other day that the Velderman’s been decoupaged in front of a very large map of the Southwestern Lake Michigan, or the Tri-State area. Is that hinky, or what? That’s ground zero just inches from his right earhole. A very fishy paste-up. I’ll bet Ben’s seen the benefits of some very small classes sizes…his pupils appear to be a good three inches apart. But EAG is hooked into “Street” Walker somehow. Don’t sweat the media coverage, they hope to condemn with faint praise.

I am cancelling part of my vacation plans to go to Madison. It is our school vacation week. While students and other teachers are in Florida and Bermuda, I will be in Madison and there is no place I would rather be.
