BP and Bloomberg. Different bulls. Same bullshit.

March 30, 2011

The three biggest school administrator lies:

“We have to do what is best for the kids.”

“My door is always open.”

And my favorite: “My decision is based on the data.”

Yesterday I read an article about British Petroleum’s current sustainability report. It included a bar graph showing yearly comparisons of the amount of oil leaked into the environment as a result of drilling.

What was stunning was that 2010, the year of the BP Gulf disaster, had the bar with the least amount of oil loss.

How is this possible? BP explained that since they didn’t yet know the extent of the worst oil spill in history, they simply didn’t include the Gulf spill in the data.

This morning’s NY Times has a report on the drop out and graduation rates in Michael Bloomberg’s schools.

New York City’s high school graduation rate may be slightly lower than advertised because some dropouts have been improperly left out of the calculations, the state comptroller’s office said Tuesday.

Different bull. Same bullshit.
