Happy trails.
A few years back I was at the NEA RA in Dallas.
No offense to the Dallas folks, but it’s not my favorite place. As someone once said, “There’s not much there there.” Some good barbecue. I stood on the white-painted X on the entrance ramp to the freeway where JFK was shot and checked out the grassy knoll.
For fun we went to Fort Worth. I recommend Fort Worth. Great chicken fried steak. The National Cowgirl Museum. The Kimball Art Museum designed by Louis Kahn is a piece of architecture that is a wonder. It outshines anything hanging on its walls.
Every day they have a cattle drive down the main street for the tourists. I couldn’t resist buying a white Stetson cowboy hat. It wasn’t cheap. And while it seemed like a good idea in Fort Worth, in Chicago? Not so much. It has been in the closet ever since.
But I’m taking it out of the closet tomorrow. We’re heading for Wyoming. We’re taking a road trip through Jackson Hole, the Tetons, Yellowstone and then down to Cheyenne. We’re doing the Frontier Days rodeo in Cheyenne and a Toby Keith concert. I’m not a great fan of Toby Keith although I like I love this bar.
It’ll be two weeks on a road trip through the Western mountains. And I’m so looking forward to it.
Blogging will be intermittent. There’s wide stretches of Wyoming that are off the grid. I’ll be off it too.
Happy trails.
Watch out for those bears. http://www.tourism-review.com/warning-deadly-bear-attack-in-yellowstone-national-park-news2862
Toby’s politiics aside, he’s a great performer! Sounds lie a nice trip, Klomsky. Yee haw!
That was me “Freddie,” I screwed up.. Have fun!
Bon Voyage, Fred.
