March to Rahm’s house to stop school closings. “Is this Chicago? Where are the boarded up houses?”
February 20, 2012
Somewhere between 500 and a thousand people marched from Lake View High School on Chicago’s north side about half a dozen blocks to the home of Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
There were no slogans chanted.
We marched in silence carrying candles. Many marchers had stickers covering their mouths with the words, “silenced,” and “excluded.”
At Rahm’s house, we stopped and a prayer was said.
Other actions are planned for the week.
