RE: evaluating teachers based on student tests scotres.

I hear that ISAT scores for 8th graders across CPS trend lower than the 7th grade scores. And that this is also true at the selective elementary schools. Anyone know the data?

It would be present a big problem for teacher evaluations.

The 7th grade ISAT scores are needed for admission into selective high schools. And 8th graders can take a lot of standardized tests, including the Explore, the entrance exams for CPS, parochial & / or private schools, and the SAT for IMSA, if they are so inclined.

Can anyone tell if test fatigue is a big part of the drop-off in 8th grade test scores?

Now, just a little photoshopping needed here, replacing the student under the dunce cap with that of a teacher. Could be ANY teacher…doesn’t matter, ’cause we’re ALL bad, don’tcha know?
