Even Arne and Obama?…the closing lines…..I don’t think so…this doesn’t benefit their RTT stimulus plan. Nope….they hope we all just shut up and scurry back to our rooms happily engaged in test prep.

I think it’s too late boys.

I don’t believe that it is too late…not unless we all give up and give in.

The ONE woman who started it all is shown here. ONE.
Like a snowball rolling downhill, what she chose to expose and oppose grew. This is not a video about her; it is a short video about a movement.

Let’s hope the movement takes off and grows so we can get real education back into our classrooms instead of test prep week after week after week. We’re currently spending about ten weeks a year, or 50 days of a 175 day school year (175 due to furloughs,) administering tests. Really? Is this what parents want for their children?

    Bravo, Garfield!

As a college instructor who gets students after they’ve come from testing and testing and more testing, I stand in solidarity with you: keep up your fight. I hope you win! But also, please stand with us too, over 70% of adjuncts who now teach Higher Ed, who cannot make stands such as yours because many of us have no contracts, no living wages, no say in governance whatsoever. Please sign my petition and share it with others, so we can get Arne Duncan to notice this too: education and our students should come first! http://signon.org/sign/better-pay-for-adjuncts.fb1?source=c.fb&r_by=426534
