It’s a cold day. No school. But I didn’t get the call. Update.

Chicago’s actual temperature (not the wind chill) was -12 this morning. In the suburbs it was down to -24. Yesterday, my district closed schools out of concern for safety of students and employees coming and going to school. The call yesterday came at 5:30 AM.

Schools were closed again today. But I never got the call. Yep. That’s right. They forgot to call the union president.

Luckily I have lots of Facebook friends who posted that they were off today. So I checked the district’s web site and discovered we have a five day weekend.

Love Facebook! But as for administration? They forgot to call the union president. Who else did they forget to call? I’ll find out. Count on it.

Update:

Got a e-mail today from administration saying the machine shows they left a voice mail message. Can’t argue with the machine. Can’t even file a grievance against a machine. Maybe it was an att problem. As Barack would say, now it’s time to look forward and not dwell on the past. So, I guess they’ll be no investigation into the no-call-to-the-union-president-that-it’s-a-snow-day issue.

  1. Most likely, Mr. Klonsky that you (and only you) were expected to come in to work today to “make up” any lost RtI collaboration time.

  2. Collaborating with myself. Interesting concept.

I guess you could say that is exactly what I am doing today. And I like it!
