Koch brothers and Pritzker boycotts ignored by IEA leadership.

At the IEA RA held two weeks ago in Rosemont there were two New Business Items passed by the membership calling for consumer boycotts. The discussion over them didn’t take very long and the votes in favor were overwhelming. They weren’t controversial.

One was to list and boycott products made by companies owned by the Koch brothers. The Koch boys are by some counts the fourth richest men in the United States. They bank rolled Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s anti-collective bargaining campaign and other union bashing efforts.

The other was to boycott Pritzker owned properties. The Pritzker family, prominent Democrats and Obama supporters, own the Hyatt Hotel chain. They refuse to bargain fair contracts with workers represented by their union, Unite Here.

Neither of these NBIs have been noted on the IEA website.

In the case of the Koch brothers, the Board of Directors were directed by the delegates to the RA to have the information posted on the IEA website.

I know that the IEA leadership reads my blog. As do hundreds of IEA members. So here’s my promise.

I promise to remind them about this every week until they follow the wishes of the delegates to the RA.

This is week two.
