Today, President Obama speaks of Dr. King, and prepares for another war.

“America, the richest and most powerful nation in the world, can well lead the way in this revolution of values. There is nothing, except a tragic death wish, to prevent us from reordering our priorities, so that the pursuit of peace will take precedence over the pursuit of war. There is nothing to keep us from molding a recalcitrant status quo with bruised hands until we have fashioned it into a brotherhood.” – Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.  A Time to Break the Silence, April 4th, 1967.

  1. I don’t know if MLK, Jr. had comfortable shoes, but he didn’t let it stop him from walking the walk, anyway. That’s the difference that makes a difference between him (and Jimmy Carter) and all those other speechifiers.

    1. Aww, Jon–Jimmy Carter?! I’m surprised at you! WHO is the president today–you know, the one who promised to put on his walking shoes for us, and not only didn’t bother to put them on in Wisconsin, but has been appeasing the 1% well…ever since his election.
      President Obama–a.k.a. Speechifier-in-Chief.

      1. I think you may have misread what I wrote. As far as the Knight of the Cart goes, I am giving him credit more for what he’s done since leaving the Oval Office.

  2. Perhaps our president is dissatisfied with being tied with Dr. King for Nobel Peace prizes, and wants to earn another one for attacking Syria?
