Breaking. JCAR does not approve special ed class size changes to Part 226. A win.

-Bev Johns

Congratulations! Today the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) did NOT approve the changes in Part 226, the Illinois special education regulations, as proposed by ISBE.

Instead JCAR voted for a 45 day extension (delaying consideration of the changes for 45 days) and the State Board of Education accepted that.

So we have time to convince the Illinois State Board of Education that further changes and modifications need to be made to Part 226.

All of your calls and contacts made a tremendous difference.
