The 15th anniversary of the Iraq War. And Wednesday’s special Hitting Left is about 1968 and the Rainbow Coalition.

2003. Chicago protests the Iraq War.

Fifteen years ago the United States invaded Iraq based on lies about connections to 9/11 and non-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction.

That war led to the sending of troops to Afghanistan where the war still rages.

How many wars are we engaged in now? Five? Seven? Wars we don’t even know about.

War without end.

  1. Fifteen Years Ago, America Destroyed My Country

Let’s stop calling the invasion of Iraq a “blunder” and call it what it is: a crime.

…No one knows for certain how many Iraqis have died as a result of the invasion 15 years ago. Some credible estimates put the number at more than one million. You can read that sentence again. The invasion of Iraq is often spoken of in the United States as a “blunder,” or even a “colossal mistake.” It was a crime. Those who perpetrated it are still at large. Some of them have even been rehabilitated thanks to the horrors of Trumpism and a mostly amnesiac citizenry. (A year ago, I watched Mr. Bush on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” dancing and talking about his paintings.) The pundits and “experts” who sold us the war still go on doing what they do. I never thought that Iraq could ever be worse than it was during Saddam’s reign, but that is what America’s war achieved and bequeathed to Iraqis.

  2. Just what the world needs, more killings. Saudi Arabia knows how to manipulate the Orange IDIOT. Most of the killers from 9/11 came from Saudi Arabia. This is not a country to trust.
Saudi Prince’s White House Visit Reinforces Trump’s Commitment to Heir Apparent

The president has lavished praise on Mohammed bin Salman, who has rapidly consolidated his position as Saudi Arabia’s heir apparent.

…“The relationship is probably the strongest it’s ever been,” Mr. Trump said, turning to reporters. “We understand each other. Saudi Arabia is a very wealthy nation, and they’re going to give the United States some of that wealth hopefully, in the form of jobs, in the form of the purchase of the finest military equipment anywhere in the world.”

Earlier, in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump displayed a poster listing military aircraft, worth $12.5 billion, that the United States had agreed to sell to Saudi Arabia. The Saudis, Mr. Trump joked to a smiling prince, were paying “peanuts” for the planes…
