As the Sun-Times rumor monger Michael Sneed would say, it is no secret that there is no love lost between Rahm Emanuel and former-Mayor Richard Daley the younger.
And it is just as obvious that the Sneed item about CTU President Karen Lewis having lunch with Richie at Gibson’s was leaked by the Daley people.
Speaking on behalf of the old Machine families, Richie wants the message sent that there are plenty of the old boys that are not happy with the north shore snot that sits in what they consider their chair on the fifth floor.
Western Union could not have delivered a message that was clearer.
The truth about all these Chicago pols and ward heelers is that they believe in nothing but taking power and holding on to it.
A Madigan – Daley feud?
Neither holds grudges that can’t be set aside.
Did Daley people drop the dime on Michael Madigan about his role in the RTA scandal?
Probably.
Did that force Lisa out of the race?
Of course.
Does that open the door for Bill Daley to take the governor’s mansion?
It doesn’t hurt.
Does Lisa want to be Attorney General again for four more years?
Nah.
Are there conversations going on between the old Machine families about Lisa taking on Rahm after her re-election as AG?

What is interesting to me is that everyone who matters in our political world knew exactly what Rahm was like and exactly what he was likely to do. He campaigned on dismantling the school district — no in front of the commoners, but in on of the Union Club and the Civic Club and the CME.
