Will Guzzardi announced today that he is running for State Representative from my district.
The incumbent is Toni Berrios. She is the daughter of the corrupt boss of the Cook County Democratic Party, Joe Berrios.
This is a rematch.
Will Guzzardi lost by just 125 votes two years ago.
There are a lot of issues that recommend Guzzardi and which I care about.
I care deeply about one.
SB1 was Mike Madgian’s bill to destroy my pension.
And the pensions of over 700,000 other state employees.
Every active teacher and every retired teacher who lives in a district where the Democratic House member voted for SB1 should find someone to primary that incumbent Democrat.
I got mine.

Unfortunately, I think you misunderstand pension reform. It would not take away the pension of retirees. Instead, pension reform as proposed in IL would curtail the defined benefit pension benefits that are earned in the future.
The so-called pension reform legislation being proposed in Illinois would definitely diminish a retiree’s pension. By slashing the COLA(cost of living adjustment) as being proposed this would diminish the pension drastically over the lifetime of the retiree.
If such legislation is passed this will be a violation of the Illinois Constitution.
