The latest on pension thief, Elgin’s Representative Keith Farnham.

Following the General Assembly’s vote on pension theft I ran a few mug shots of some of the pension thieves.

One was Representative Keith Farnham of Elgin.

Will there soon be an actual mug shot?

Today’s Trib:

Federal agents executed search warrants Thursday at state Rep. Keith Farnham’s home and district office in Elgin and Homeland Security asked state authorities to help secure the lawmaker’s office in a building next to the Capitol, officials said today.

Special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations executed the federal search warrants, ICE spokeswoman Gail Montenegro said in a statement today. The spokeswoman did not say what authorities were looking for, saying the investigation is ongoing.

No federal search warrant has been executed at Rep. Farnham’s Springfield office, Montenegro said. On Thursday in Springfield, however, federal Homeland Security officials contacted the Illinois Secretary of State police to assist in “securing” Farnham’s office in the Stratton Office Building, where lawmakers have offices next to the Capitol, said Henry Haupt, a secretary of state spokesman.

Today, two men, one in uniform and wearing a badge and carrying a gun, were in a suite area behind the desk of Farnham’s secretary at the Stratton office. The door to Farnham’s office was shut. The two men would not comment but referred a reporter to Montenegro.

Farnham is on the Tuesday primary ballot, but the Democrat is unopposed. He has been in the House since 2009.

If my mug shot drawings have become a channeling device for federal authorities, I’ll be glad to do more.

  1. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Not too surprising. A lot of the ones who think pension theft is OK, also think other thefts and crimes are OK too. They are morally bankrupt. They put their hand in the cookie jar just ONCE TOO OFTEN, and see what happens! He may well have the opportunity to lose his state pension, the same one he voted to steal from public sector retirees.
