  1. Never bothered to count them. Great (but sad) observation.

A while back Jimmy Carter tried to get the ball rolling (toward a reduction in the use of fossil fuels) by placing solar panels on the roof of the White House. When Reagan entered office, one of the first things he did was to tear down those solar panels. We’ve been kissing butt to get more and more Mid East oil ever since.

If we can place a man on the moon, we can install solar panels on the roof of automobiles. There are enough brilliant minds in this country to do so. It looks as though the corporate lobbyists and powers that be won’t encourage or allow it to happen.

  2. a true testament to what an amazing president as well as man he is. noble peace prize winner as well as strong, competent commander-in-chief.

  3. Our commander-in-chief has chosen only Muslim countries to bomb, without a declaration of war, although supported by racists in both the Republican and Democratic Congress.

    1. It seems anymore that both the Republicans and the far left discredit Obama. Myself, I kinda LIKE the guy!!!! I have always felt that Washington needs leaders that have the courage and intestinal fortitude to go to war………and the wisdom to know when not to! To me, Obama has shown courage, intestinal fortitude (guts!) AND wisdom!!

      1. Intestinal fortitude to go to war? Seriously? Washington needs leaders who go to war? Well, we certainly have had no short supply of them. You must have been very pleased with all the ones we’ve had.

      2. Neal, I wish he had more courage when it comes to getting foods that have been genetically modified labeled properly. When he was running for President he said that would be one of the first things he would do. Monsanto has had the reigns ever since he has been in office.

  4. I had three uncles and a brother who fought in the battle for Okinawa, Korean War, and Vietnam War. Personality disorders, alcoholics, prison time, a suicide, and health problems are the price they paid.

    1. My Dad fought in World War II with the 11th airborne, Purple heart, Silver star. I am proud of what he and the others of the greatest generation did to protect the freedom you have to rip the US government. Think you could do that had Hitler been victorious? Like to be able to complain about our leaders in Washington? Thank a vet!!! My Dad saw what had to be done and did it, then came home and got on with his life like all those brave boys!!. The Japanese Empire had to be stopped. Nazi Germany had to be stopped! World War II had to be fought and it had to be won. When the west was slow to intervene in the Balkans in the ’90’s, Muslims were angered that other Muslims were being killed while the west dragged it’s feet. I’m done here!!!!!

  5. Obama is turning out to be one great joke of a president. What a mirage his campaigns have been – right up there with Scott Walker running as a moderate. As soon as B.O. named Duncan and Rahm to their positions, I knew we were screwed and “HOPE” referred to this: The billionaires and corporations HOPE they will further rule the world. And now they do.

  6. One final comment before I leave for good. Fred, in the time I have been reading your blogs and responding, I have always treated everyone here with due respect (of course not Rauner or Emmanuel) I have never insulted you, or anyone else! Your comment to me “You must have been very pleased with all the ones we’ve had” was uncalled for!! It sounded like a politician attacking!! It was mean and totally unnecessary! People have differences of opinion, but for you to make such a comment to me, when I have NEVER attacked YOU is unprofessional!! I am truly done with this!!
