Some of Obama’s proposals “greeted with skepticism.” That’s true.

President Obama gave what was called a major address on education today to the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The NY Times reported that his call for lifting state limits on charter schools and merit pay would be greeted by teachers and teacher unions with skepticism.

That may be true.

But I liked his proposals on expanding early childhood education, promoting teacher quality by recruiting, training, supporting, and rewarding teachers, encouraging innovation and making higher education more accessible.

But I’m skeptical about that.
