Voters need more chances to hear from all of the mayoral contestants, see them mix it up and face questions from people and organizations working in neighborhoods and institutions across the city. “He owes it to the people of Chicago, who deserve every opportunity to question and study the candidates up close and as a group during this abbreviated election season,” the Sun-Times editorial board wrote of Emanuel’s choice earlier this week.
