IEA Communications Director Charlie McBarron ends our Facebook friendship.

Sorry Charlie.

For the past couple of years IEA Communications Director Charlie McBarron and I have been Facebook-friends.

No more.

Charlie ended it.

Back story: A couple of days ago I notice that Charlie had Facebook-friended the National Council on Teacher Quality. NCTQ is an anti-union group that produces report after report on how bad union collective bargaining agreements are. Now I know that Facebook only lets you friend and like things. It’s a happy place. So the fact that Charlie had Facebook-friended NCTQ was not odd by itself. So I went to their website and discovered that IEA Executive Director Audrey Soglin was on their Board of Advisors along with such creeps as Michelle Rhee and Fred Hess.

When I pointed this out on my blog, I guess Charlie got Facebook-mad at me and decided to end our Facebook friendship. I suspected this might happen, which is why I checked today to see if we were still Facebook-friends.

We’re Facebook-not.
