What does Kyle Olson hope to find in my personnel file?

Andrew Breibart’s puppy dog, Kyle Olson.

Last February they demanded my emails.

Yesterday they demanded to go through my personnel file using the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.

The letter from Kyle Olson, head of the western Michigan anti-union cult called the Education Action Group and Ben Velderman’s boss, was brief. “We want Klonsky’s personnel file.”

Why?

Will they find a smoking gun that shows I’m the power behind the growing Occupation movement?

Will they find evidence that I was the main guy behind the pounding Governor Kasich’s bill attacking collective bargaining rights got in Ohio?

Perhaps they hope that in my personnel file is the secret plan I sent to the Michigan Education Association to successfully recall Michigan Representative Paul Scott.

Or the plan I’m developing to recall Governnor Walker in Wisconsin.

Do they think that they keep this stuff in my personnel file?

What they will find is twenty-seven years of evaluations by more than a dozen different principals that describe in great detail what a fine teacher I am.

A fine teacher.

That will piss Olson off.

You could have just asked me Kyle. I’m proud of performance reviews and I would have gladly shared them with you.

But that’s not it.

I think Kyle got spooked by Ohio.

His shit isn’t working.

And he’s trying to frighten other teachers.

Too late.

  1. It scares me that this group would want your personnel file. Yeah, they have FOIA, but honestly, what do they think it will serve? If it were a parent, that is one thing, but who are they to ask? They are in MI.

Those of us in the know don’t even look at our school email. We have our own accounts and use those on our own time and computers.

  2. Not to start anything, but I date the spiritual beginning movement to the unfortunate suicide of an L.A. middle school teacher named Rigoberto Ruleas, Jr. who was despondent about having been libeled in the Los Angeles Times, who has published damaging, but flawed Value-Added scores in August of 2010.

  3. It’s an intimidation tactic, not just for you, but for your district. They’ll bury your district’s HR department in paperwork, trying to make you look bad.

  4. So you know, and I think I posted this way back when Velderman & you first tangled, that group is collecting emails from schools they think are active in the social justice movement. They asked for the emails of the entire social studies dept. there as well as from Tilden High School. If you remember those students who made that Youtube video before the Chicago mayoral election, endorsing del Valle & ripping charter schools, those students were from Tilden. My guess is they are making as many requests as humanly possible. Also keep in mind, Breitbart is making a play with his own tv channel, radio, etc. Maybe these guys are working to develop stories for that. I also know that they requested attendance information on these teachers as well. Could be hundreds of requests; they could be requesting everyone’s info to try to make some bogus claims about lazy, socialist educators. Yeah right.

  5. Oh, I meant to say Social Justice High School. One last thought, these guys really think they’re the new “ratfuckers”, the next gen., down from Nixon & his people, to Lee Atwater & his, to Karl Rove, to Breitbart & O’Keefe.
