His “head” was exposed when he hired a non-educator as Secretary of Education. It’s been further exposed by his support of charter schools and high-stakes testing. We know exactly what’s in his head. He’s just smart enough not to let it come out his mouth right now because he knows how unpopular it is among his “base” (his “base” being the people who, despite being repeatedly screwed over, still intent to vote for him; his real base, of course, is little different than Romney’s).
Not even I respect the parties and the issues and urge both sides to find a solution to ensures teachers have the respect and tools they need to education the children of the city.

Interesting that they have no opinion, but a possible 3.5 million teacher votes could hinge on what he says and does. I wonder what kind of mathematical calculation and formula they’re using?
Herein lies the problem with Obama. He won’t stand up for anything. Good ideas, great speeches, little substance. Of course he’s better than repugs who will shoot you in a minute. But where is Obama’s spine? When will he start actually fighting for the rights of middle class workers who are being brutalized by the likes of rahm, arne, jc buzzard, madigan, the koch brothers, etc.
Obama’s campaign people – are you listening d. axelrod??? – may have already colored in IL as blue but don’t be too sure. Teachers and other union members do not like to be bullied and abused. That is all rahm has done since he returned to Chicago. He is a horrid person who needs to get religion fast or he will have a city on the verge of implosion.
Obama once again throws the middle class under the bus. Teachers everywhere if you haven’t gotten the message your on your own. At the federal state and local level you are the whipping boy for society. Even some of the associations ( unions) IEA are giving in . The Chicago teachers union is the only one willing to stand up to the mob and fight for the teachers. When Obama comes looking for the money you know what to tell him and that rat bastard Duncan.
I would pay to see that confirmation hearing. So Ms Rhee, can you explain the educational benefits of duct-taping a student’s mouth closed? Ms Rhee, it appears that you and your new husband, Mayor Kevin Johnson have had multiple issues with female employees and students at St. Hope. Could you elaborate ?

Its the NEW math standards that are part of the common core. Something about how to take two positive numbers and turn them into a negative one.

This strike is a repudiation of many of the President’s Race to the Top initiatives, and it’s heavy-handed, top-down implementation.
