How about we go back down to Springfield tomorrow and storm the House gallery! Anyone interested?
Hey retirees, If you don’t have time or can’t get down to Springfield, how about going to your Rep’s local office and registering your opinion with your Rep’s staff. Hanging around in the office and outside with a few signs, especially if the office is on a busy street or in a public area, might make the staff nervous, will get their (and your Rep’s) attention, and you may be able to set some non-teachers straight on how terrible this bill is and how we need to close loopholes, tax services, etc. to improve revenue. Signs that say, “A Pension is a Promise,” “A Pension is a Contract,” “Rep. ____, Don’t Steal My Pension,” “My Pension is my Only Retirement Fund- NO Social Security” come to mind. And YOU”D BE DOING SOMETHING!!!!
