Grassroots activists marched a letter up to Lisa Madigan’s office demanding that she investigate the TIF surplus. Media is absent.

Tim Furman reports that the media was absent today.  “It was just me, Progress Illinois and Univision.”

Please post these videos widely.

  2. Thanks for posting, Fred. Two things: 1. Jitu Brown’s report that kids at Dyett will be reduced to taking online art, Spanish, social studies, and music online— well, that just blows me away. I mean, here in America. The whole country should know about that. 2. The excellent folks from Labor Beat were also there; I neglected to say that in my email to you earlier. I have no doubt they’ll post excellent coverage of the press conference.

  3. The city operates under a double standard of law under cover of a double standard of press coverage. Here we have a case of blatant fraud, but Lisa Madigan will not do her job, and the schools will not be reopened. Let’s not mince words. Chicago has been overrun by dangerous criminals who should be locked up in prison. Lisa Madigan should be forced to resign for not doing her job.

  4. The destruction of the public school system in Chicago and protests gets as much media coverage as our government’s covert wars in Nicaragua and El Salvador in the 1980’s , Columbia, Yemen now. But of course front and foremost they like to report how we must be so afraid of “threats” and “terrorists”… to justify taking away our civil liberties…. like Protest
