Keeping retirement weird. A little place in Michigan.

Gary Solomon’s little beach house in Harbert.

For years Anne and I would rent a little house across the Lake in Michigan during the summer.

Mostly for a week.

A couple years we rented one for a month.

Once for the entire summer.

Harbert is just down the road. It’s nice.

We often thought about buying something. But the prices were beyond a teacher’s reach.

Not a problem for Gary Solomon.

Solomon was just indicted in the $20 million CPS kick-back scandal that brought down the felonious former CPS CEO Barbara Byrd Bennett.

The house is brand new. Even if you typed 13441 Timberlane, Harbert, Michigan into Google maps, the house is so new it doesn’t yet show up.

A friend writes:

Here’s a picture of Gary Solomon’s house in Michigan. He broke ground on this place in 2013, the year those contracts were being assigned, right about the time Ms. Karp wrote the first article about it.

The land was purchased a bit before that, exactly when BBB and him were working this scam out. It’s quite a spread. Full size pool, big hot tub, decent chunk of land, big house, fully appointed. He pumps water off of this land as it’s a wetland.

The house is in a little town called Harbert, just a stones throw from the lake. Private beach at the end of the road etc. This dude was building this thing and buying the land right smack dab in the middle of this contract thing. He broke ground in 2013 and the land was purchased a year or so before that.

BBB likes casinos.

Solomon likes houses in the midwest Hamptons.

Maybe Gary can invite some of the thousands of kids for a little beach and pool time. The ones who are losing teachers and programs this year because CPS is crying poor.

Meanwhile, we will keep renting that little place in Union Pier.

And stay away from the casino.

Here’s the copy of the deed:
