The in box. The criminal behavior is not limited to Illinois.

Good for you, Fred.

Today’s attacks against teachers, their unions, and their pensions is emblematic of the disdain the elite have for those they see as beneath them. In many ways, teachers, police officers, fire fighters, and others in public service are today’s serfs for the lords of the 1%, and those they hold sway over through their conspiratorial claims. Its unfortunate that so many of the 99% follow the siren call of the elite when it comes to anti-union rhetoric, for their fortune owes itself in large part to the security and benefits their forebears enjoyed by unionizing. As a former resident of Palatine, and Schaumburg, I wish you and all others subject to Quinn’s whims the very best of luck and strength in exposing the disingenuous nature of pension reform, as well as education reform.

The criminal behavior of legislators and government executives is not limited to Illinois, sadly. In California, an identical scenario is playing out across our state, with the same group of public employees the target of many’s ire, all due to similar mismanagement by elected, and appointed, officials. Let’s hope the efforts to push back against these misdirected attacks succeed in one state reigniting the fires of others’ efforts.
