Has Peet’s coffee Starbucked itself?

Those of you who are regular readers know that I am a loyal customer of Peet’s coffee.

The coffee is good. But what has made me loyal are the employees. We have made friends, good friends, with many of them over many years.

So I said I would be glad to share this with you.

Do you love delicious coffee? Do you love sustainable employment and a living wage?

In 2 weeks, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, the gourmet coffee company that just sold for 1 billion dollars, CASH, will be coming to Chicago to make a statement about the living wage.

  1. Do you know where I could find more information about this announcement, and whether changes are coming from employees or stockholders? Any idea if Peet’s might be considering a worker-owned model?

    Thanks for sharing.
