Here’s a link to a Scot Reeder article demanding that more be done to cut pensions. I actually spent a little time there commenting about the article and replying to the luddite who responded to it.
If nothing else, it shows why we need to confront every attack upon our future, no matter how ill informed that opinion.
There are some pretty self-centered, jealous people out there who demand our property be taken because in their minds “If I don’t have it, no one should have it!”
They really need to be outed for what they are. Pretty sad.

Here is an excellent analysis of how damaging this “reform” is to the Illinois economy. This should be fodder for the attorneys preparing the suit, since the main argument from Madigan, et. al., is going to be the potential damage to the economy of leaving the pension system “as is” (“was”, in this case). This article shows that when a real analysis is done, the reforms will do more to damage the overall economy than leaving the system alone. That sort of takes the wind out of that argument.
