Bob Lyons is a member of the Teacher Retirement System board of trustees. He represents the retirees on the board. The board of trustees is now a defendant in the IRTA suit to overturn the pension-busting Senate Bill 1.

The TRS board was told at the start of the month that we would be included in any suit that was brought to stop the new law. Since TRS would administer the law, anyone suing would include us with the state and also the comptroller’s office that send out the checks.

Bob Lyons…One trustee that actually tries to look out for the interests of the retirees. Isn’t it sad that in order to hold the thieves accountable, someone like Bob has to be accused of malfeasance.
Whoever first said it, the phrase remains true… “The Law is an Ass…” Sorry Bob. We know you look out for us unlike so many others.
Malfeasance? At least READ the complaint. Trustees are sued in official capacity alone and there are no allegations of misconduct.

Sorry. Hugh is wrong. The point of the law suit concerns the constitutionality of SB1. Nobody or agency is being accused of malfeasance.
